During the conquest of Mexico, the goal was to attack and conquer the Aztecs. This is a route of the conquest. Cortes started with Cuba. He went around the north western part of Mexico and stopped in Campeche. Along the way he met a tribe that were enemies of the Aztecs named the Tlaxcalans. This tribe later on helped Cortes in the conquering of the Aztecs. From this point he went on to Tenochtitlin, which was the capital of the Aztecs. Here they attacked the Aztecs and successfully conquered them.
